New Job

Hi,

Sorry it has taken me some time to add to my blog. I got a new job at Yankee Candle. I'm working taking pictures of people in Santa's sleigh and two reindeer and when the weather is nice I'm outside taking pictures with a big pumpkin. When it gets closer to Christmas and when Santa arrives at Yankee Candle then it will be kids with Santa. I have been enjoying this job. I did leave the job at the school. It was because I did not have enough hours a week to work. I will keep you posted on this new job.

School Year

Hi,

Well the school year is coming to a end. It has been fun working at Sheffield Elementary School. The last day for the after school program ends Thursday May 28th. Then the before school ends June 12th. All the students have enjoyed having me around the school. I will be applying for the before and after school in the fall. I liked working there. I did not have to travel far for work everyday. I also like how I can go down to the Great Falls Discovery Center after I get out of work and help out down there.

Driver's License

Hi everyone,

Just resent I got my driver's license. It feels good to have it. I have been driving my parents car until I safe up to get a car of my own. I past my test on May 6th.

Bead Making

Hi,

Just resent I have learn how to do bead working. The type of bead working that I'm learning is Native American. The person who taught me how to bead is a Native American who I work with at the school. It is fun to make beaded items. The needle and the beads are very small. Once I get the needle on the string and then I can put the beads on and start making what I'm going to make. I have students ask me if they can have what I'm making. A couple of the students have picked out the colors that I should use next. I think they enjoy seeing someone that know how to knit learn how to bead. Mine oldest niece pick out the colors that I will use next. It is fun learning how to bead. I the way I was taught how to bead for the first time was on a loom. I'm still using the loom. When you use the loom you can put on as many strings as you want, then when you use the beads you only put on one less bead than string on the loom. I guess that is it for now.

The School Year

Hi everyone,

Well the school year is almost out for the summer. I think that the students that I work with are ready for the summer. We get out on the 18th of June. I know that I'm ready but I have been looking a summer job. But if I can not find a summer job I will be volunteering my time at the Great Falls Discovery Center and at the local library where I live. I like volunteering but it does not pay. I have a lot of fun working with the kids this past school year. The kids like working with me for the hour in the morning and the two hours in the afternoon. They also like seeing me during the school time hours. The last two weeks I have been helping out in the school library with making sure that the new books get ready to be on the selves for the kids to check out and read. The school's librarian likes all the help that I have been doing. I guess that is it for this post.

Hi,

As some of you know that I knit baby blankets for Navy-Marine Relief Society. I have just received a thank you note from a couple that just had a son want to thank me for the blanket. It was nice to receive a thank you note from them. I'm still making a lot of blankets to send down to Navy-Marine Relief Society.

My new job

My new job at Sheffield school is going good. I work in the morning from 8 to 9 then after that I do volunteering in the office. I work Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 3 to 5. On Wednesday's I bring the kids down to the Carnegie Library and on Friday's I teach knitting. It is working out very good. In the mornings I do either Arts and Crafts or I do exercise in the gym. I like the job a lot. I will keep everyone updated on the job.

Hi there,

I just started a new job. I'm working with an after school program at Sheffield Elementary School. In the mornings I'm doing exercise then on Friday afternoons I'm teaching students that Sign up for knitting. It's one hour in the morning then three hours in the afternoons. The job is a lot of fun. The best thing is going to be teaching the students how to knit. I will post after the class on Friday.

Making a new blanket

I started a new baby blanket. This one is two different shades of green. The blanket will be going down to Washington D.C. to Navy-Marine Relief Society. I will be putting a picture of the blanket when it is done.

The Great Falls Discovery Center

I have been volunteering here at The Great Falls Discovery Center since June. The Discovery center is located in Turners Falls, Ma. There is no charge to get in. The center is on the Connecticut River Water Shed. The river is over 400 miles long and had over 700 rivers that run into the river. It starts up at the border of Canada and runs down to Long Island Sound, New York.

A big lobster

This is the big lobster that my dad won at a calm bake. It took my dad and I to clean it out. It took us about an hour to do so.

I'm the Blue Goose!!

I was dressed up as a Blue Goose in the Turners Falls Block Party that was on August 9. The person next to me is one of my friends that works at the Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls. It was a lot of fun to dress up as the Blue Goose!!

My Aunt's Bench we got in memory for her

This is a bench that we got for one of my Aunt's who passed away from cancer. We got it so that she could be remembered at the beach when we go up. The bench is at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. When we first got the bench I was unable to sit on it but now I am able to sit on it.

These are some of the many of the Lillies that my mom has in her front garden. They are so beautiful. We planted them last year and they spread like fast this year. Enjoy the color of the yellow Lillies in our garden!!

Hampton Beach, NH

I just got back from Hampton Beach, NH. I went up with my mom, dad, then later in the day my brother came with his wife and their three kids. We all had fun. We went up to see the sandcastles. The theme this year was Dr. Souse. There was a lot of people that was there to see the sandcatles.

Here I'm walking under the arch at graduation. I'm finally graduated from high school!! I'm very happy that I'm are done but sad that I'm leaving everyone that I became friends with in the last 6 years of being in Middle school and high school with. I wish everyone in my class the very best and good luck!!

The GMEF Gala with Don Campbell

The Gala with Don Campbell was awesome. He did some of his own songs from his Cd's. Everyone that did show up enjoyed the concert very much. Don Campbell enjoyed to preform at the Turners Falls High School. Here is Don Campbell's website: www.doncampbellband.com

Has anyone hear about the Harry Potter sock yarn that is coming out?? I was the colors today. I think that the colors are the Houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. My mom told me about the yarn and I told one of my friends about it today when I saw her. I can not wait to work the yarn!!

GMEF Gala

On April 26th the GMEF is having our annual Gala. We are having "The Essence of Country" with Don Campbell (www.doncampbellmusic.com ). Don Campbell is a country western singer. He also opens for a lot of the country singers. If anyone wants a ticket they are $20, @ 7:30pm, and at the Turners Falls High School. If you would like to get tickets go to www.thegmef.org The money from the concert will be going to the students to be able to go on field trips, etc.

I'm going to be starting a new blanket for one of my teacher's cats. I had made my teacher a lap blanket and the cat liked it so much that I'm going to make a blanket for the cat. I will let you know how the cat likes it.
